JessB returns with her latest hit, “Come Find Me”.
This breezy, mid-tempo track gleams with a tinge of Afro-beats percussion as JessB talks about self-discovery and refusing to let others dictate her path. With a nonchalant attitude, she sings, “I’m just finding myself, don’t mind me.”
Throughout the track, the Aotearoa star’s trademark independence and strength shine through, a hallmark of her dynamic musical repertoire.
“The people around me have been a catalyst to so much of my own growth as an individual. The power in knowing / finding yourself is that you don’t need to rely on external sources of validating to stand ten toes in who you are,” says JessB.
The accompanying music video perfectly captures the song’s message of unity and community. Filmed with a lo-fi camcorder, it follows JessB on her travels from the Sky Tower to the Eiffel Tower, as well as scenes from her Tāmaki Makaurau QTPOC club night event, FILTH, co-founded with DJ Half Queen. The track premiered during Half Queen’s 6-hour DJ set that night.
A sign of her journey forward, “Come Find Me” was written and recorded in Europe with acclaimed producer M.O.W Music. This release is supported by JessB’s recent signing to Say Less, a collaboration with Warner Music Australia, home to artists like PANIA, Bobi Andonov, and ASM Keeno.
“Come Find Me” follows hot on the heels of JessB’s previous track, “Hold Me Down”, which dropped just a few months back. It’s been a whirlwind summer for the artist, gracing stages at festivals like Beyond The Valley, Field Day, and Northern Bass.
With hints of more music on the horizon, it’s safe to say JessB season is in full swing.
