Jelly Roll is set to make his Australian debut later this month, and while he’s here he will also debut at Nova’s Red Room, performing an intimate one-off show at Melbourne’s legendary Espy on October 30th.
The Grammy-nominated rapper-turned-country artist will take the stage in the venue’s famed Gershwin Room before just 450 fans, marking a highlight stop on his first-ever Australian visit. Hosted by Nova 100’s Jase & Lauren, the Red Room set will offer listeners the kind of sweat-soaked, sing-every-word experience that’s become Jelly Roll’s calling card.
The performance lands between his debut Australian headline tour dates — Brisbane (October 24th), Melbourne (October 28th–29th) and Sydney (November 4th) — and his appearances headlining the inaugural Strummingbird Festival, which will hit the Sunshine Coast, Newcastle, Perth and Townsville.
Born Jason DeFord, Jelly Roll has become one of music’s most unlikely crossover stars, fusing country, rock and hip-hop with unflinching honesty. His 2024 album Beautifully Broken debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and Country Albums charts, driven by hits like “I Am Not Okay”, “Liar”, and “Heart of Stone”.
It’s been a landmark year for Nova’s Red Room too, which has hosted sets from Daniel Seavey, Calum Hood and Ricki-Lee, as well as the network’s Red Room Global Tour in Las Vegas earlier this year, where Jelly Roll first gave fans a taste of what to expect in Melbourne.
“2025 has been an exciting year so far for Nova’s Red Room, with unforgettable performances including our very own Ricki-Lee, Daniel Seavey, Calum Hood, and the huge success of Nova’s Red Room Global Tour,” Nova Network’s Group Programming Director, Brendan Taylor, said. “To have Jelly Roll in Nova’s Red Room on his debut tour of Australia is an incredible privilege. It’s another reminder why this platform is so special; connecting fans with artists in ways you simply can’t experience anywhere else and building momentum for even more incredible moments ahead.”
Tickets aren’t for sale; the only way in is to win through the Nova Player or by tuning into Nova’s Ricki-Lee, Tim & Joel, Ben, Liam & Belle or Nova 100’s Jase & Lauren.
