Byron Bay outfit Tora have shared stellar renditions of “Call On Me” and “In Deeper” for the latest instalment of Rolling Stone’s ‘In My Room’, a series in which artists perform from home following a year which has seen live shows become a rarity.

Though hailing from Byron Bay originally, you’d have to find yourself in Amsterdam to casually run into Tora, who have been on the scene for close to a decade now. With much acclaim coming their way thanks to their masterful and unique blend of chilled-out electronica, the group have been busy in recent times, working towards the release of their third album, with A Force Majeure officially arriving last month.

“For us, amongst all of the chaos going on globally, this album really brought us a sense of relief.” vocalist Jo Loewenthal explained.

“That’s what we want to share with the world. Come back to the self and work on the self so that you can project outward positively: that’s the message. Personal growth, growing yourself so you can help others. Don’t just take, give. Giving is the same as taking; when you give, someone else is taking. That ultimately comes back around.”

With their album bringing them a sense of much-needed relief, the group have been unfortunately been unable to return home to share live versions of their stunning tracks. However, Tora have been able to perform a pair of live tracks for your remote listening pleasure, which is what they’ve done for the latest edition of our ‘In My Room’ series.

Kicking things off with a version of “Call On Me”, the band show off their immeasurable musical talent, flexing their creative muscles and enthralling listeners with every single sound they craft. Closing at the open by finishing their two-track set with album-launcher “In Deeper”, it’s clear that Tora have undoubtedly taken their musical world to the next level with their latest album, and these live performances prove it.
