Australian guitarist and vocalist KIT has performed a handful of gorgeous tracks for the latest edition of Rolling Stone’s ‘In My Room’, a series in which artists perform from home while in quarantine.
For years, KIT (better known to many as Katie Wighton) has been renowned as one of the founding members of ARIA Award-winning folk group All Our Exes Live In Texas. Earlier this year though, KIT went out on her own, sharing her debut single “Good Guy”, before releasing “King Size Bed” back in August.
A masterclass of exceptional songwriting and stunning instrumentation, KIT’s work has been enough to leave newfound fans waiting to catch her performing these tracks live. Unfortunately, a global pandemic has halted these plans somewhat, with the talented artist appearing as part of Rolling Stone’s ‘In My Room’ series to help bridge that gap.
Performing from her home in the Melbourne suburb of Brunswick, KIT kicked things off with a rendition of recent single “King Size Bed”, keeping an infectious smile on her face throughout the entire track.
Sharing a bit of “terrible banter” before he next track, she showcases new track “Make Your Mind Up” before a rendition of “You Act Like a Child” closes out the set.
“It’s about when people act like children,” she notes, before professionally brushing off a broken string to power through the tune.
