Beryl are putting dreamy art-folk firmly on the map of Sydney’s music scene.

Describing their sound as “cathartic, melancholic, and introspective,” the band has developed a unique blend of wistful storytelling and charming acoustic accompaniments, bringing gentle riffs and woodwind instruments together to underscore their emotional lyrics.

After their 2023 LP, Dry Peel Crack, was nominated for Album of the Year at the FBi Radio SMAC Awards, the duo took over local airwaves, garnering widespread acclaim from Triple J and Sydney’s 2SER.

The band has since toured their new LP Body Break — which earnt the title of Album of the Week from Sydney’s FBi Radio  — alongside Melbourne alt-rock band sleepazoid, who joined Beryl as recent inductees into the Mentos Fresh Sounds Class of ’26, curated by Rolling Stone AU/NZ.

To celebrate their seemingly unstoppable success, Beryl took over the In My Room studio to perform new singles “Unravel” and “Soft Floor,” with both songs demonstrating the restraint and attention to detail the band bring to every musical pursuit.

It seems Beryl has found their niche among Australia’s up-and-coming artists, as their soft style and poignant lyricism bring listeners securely along for the ride.
