Hypersonic is bringing back a familiar face to lead its second edition, with Armin van Buuren returning to the Australian electronic festival in 2026.
The Dutch electronic heavyweight headlined Hypersonic’s inaugural event last year, and will return when the festival takes over Melbourne Showground on Friday, November 20th and Sydney’s Royal Randwick Racecourse on Saturday, November 21st.
While booking the same headliner for two years in a row might raise a few eyebrows, Hypersonic said the decision was driven by demand from its audience. “We’re incredibly excited to welcome Armin van Buuren back to Hypersonic in 2026. He continues to be one of the most requested artists by our audience, so bringing him back for another year felt like a natural choice,” organisers told Rolling Stone AU/NZ.
Van Buuren won’t be alone, with W&W, Showtek, Timmy Trumpet, Hybrid Minds, Cyril, Pendulum (DJ Set), Charlotte Haining, and more among the major names confirmed for this year’s festival.
The 2026 lineup will stretch across EDM, techno, drum and bass, dubstep, hardstyle, tech-house and dance pop, with organisers promising a broader musical offering than Hypersonic’s debut. Check out the full lineup below.
“At the same time, this is our most diverse Hypersonic lineup to date. We’ve expanded the musical offering across bass, trap and hardstyle, alongside live vocal performances, while staying true to the sounds at the heart of the festival,” organisers told us. “It’s a lineup that reflects how Hypersonic is continuing to evolve and grow.”
