British electronic band Hot Chip have announced an Australian ‘Best Of’ tour, set for early 2026.

Known for mixing euphoria with melancholy, and considered one of the most important British groups, Hot Chip’s live shows are renowned for their energy, often featuring extended, reworked versions of their songs, mixing electronic performance with live instrumentation.

The ‘Joy In Repetition: The ‘Best Of’ Performed Live’ Australian tour includes an exclusive headline show at Brisbane’s Fortitude Music Hall on January 10th, a Melbourne show on January 13th (venue TBC), and appearances at Sydney Festival on January 14th and 15th.

The festival’s program was unveiled this morning (November 6th), and promises to transform Sydney into a cultural playground under the guidance of new director Kris Nelson.

Hot Chip’s shows will be a celebration of their latest album compilation, released on September 5th via Domino Records, Joy in Repetition. More than two decades and eight studio albums in, Hot Chip remain as vital as ever: playful, profound and perpetually locked in the groove.

This is their first anthology, mapping out an artistic evolution from DIY beginnings into “the greatest British pop group of their generation” (the Guardian) with six Top 20 albums, a Mercury Music Prize nomination, sell-out residencies at Brixton Academy and, collaborations over the years with David Byrne, Jarvis Cocker, Robert Wyatt, Brian Eno and more. It’s a collection shaped by dance floors, bedroom studios, festival stages and friendship.

According to Hot Chip, the collection is less a ‘Best Of’, more like a ‘Best Loved’ – tracks that have connected during their thrilling live shows and have taken on a life of their own beyond the original recorded versions, including “Boy From School”, “Melody of Love” and “Flutes”.

Hot Chip’s discography dives deep into dedication – to the beat and to each other – and shows how it can lead somewhere surprising, even transcendent.

Tickets to Hot Chip’s Brisbane show will go on sale at 12pm (local) on Tuesday, November 11th. Artist and Mastercard presales will run from 11am (local) on Friday, November 7th, while Secret Sounds’ presale will begin at 12pm (local), Monday, November 10th. Sign up for presale here.

Further details for the Melbourne date are to be confirmed.
