Hoodoo Gurus Reschedule 40th Anniversary Tour to 2022

Supported by US rockers The Dandy Warhols, Aussie icons the Hoodoo Gurus will be hitting the road early next year.

It’s news that would shock no one, given the current climate of touring, but veteran Aussie rockers Hoodoo Gurus have today announced their forthcoming 40th anniversary tour has now been shifted to April of 2022.

Originally announced back in May, the Hoodoo Gurus were set to take to the stage this December, celebrating the ruby anniversary of their first show with a run of tour dates supported by US outfit The Dandy Warhols.

Unfortunately, with current border closures ensuring that touring for anyone – let alone an incoming US group on support – is an impossibility, the Aussie icons have today announced their forthcoming dates will be pushed back a few months.

Set to kick off on April 2nd in Perth, the tour will see the group heading to all their originally planned venues – including shows in Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane – along with the inclusion of a new show in Hobart on April 9th.

“Let’s face it, folks – 2021 is a write-off,” frontman Dave Faulkner said in a statement. “We had high hopes earlier in the year that the pandemic would be behind us by now but… well, you know as well as I do. Delta skelter!, dashed hopes, spilt milk, whatever, we won’t let it break us.

“Stay strong, stay safe and stay put – we’ll get everything back on track in 2022. As the song says, all the good times we had we’ll have again. Believe it.”

All previously-purchased tickets remain valid for the new dates, though anyone unable to attend is advised to submit a refund request prior to November 3rd.

Though it’s currently been 11 years since the group last released a studio album, the last few years have seen a handful of new songs arrive from the ARIA Hall of Famers, including “World of Pain”, which arrived in May, and is on track to appear on the band’s forthcoming record.
