Hot on the heels of their critically acclaimed self-titled debut album, HighSchool have announced an East Coast album tour.

Presented by Handsome Tours, the duo of Rory Trobbiani and Luke Scott will bring their much-vaunted live show to home shores this May with a three-date run of shows in Sydney, Brisbane, and their hometown of Melbourne.

Joined by live members Lily Trobbiani and Lucy Lamb, HighSchool’s hazy and evocative live show is a portal to the sweat-drenched, American Apparel-clad heyday of the late 2000s, bringing a full-bodied dimension to their spectral, cinematic strain of indie rock.

Tickets will go on sale at 1pm (local) on Friday, January 30th. Presale will kick off at 1pm (local) on Thursday, January 29th – sign up here.

Their self-titled debut album was released in October, to widespread praise. Produced by Ben Hillier and Finn Bellingham, and recorded between London, Lewes (East Sussex), and Melbourne, HighSchool is an intoxicating delivery of ’80s post-punk with reflections of alternative revivalism.

Meticulous in its construction, the album is a vivid coming-of-age soundtrack that plays on the band’s name for its core theme, fusing post-punk, slowcore and alternative revivalism across twelve deeply personal tracks.

Since 2021, HighSchool have developed a sound influenced by shoegaze, new wave, and post-punk. Their earlier EPs – Forever At Last and 2024’s Accelerator – explored themes of suburban life and youth.

The band spent time in London’s Windmill scene and have since performed in Australia, Europe, Japan, and North America. They have toured with Wunderhorse, Sam Fender, Provoker, and Chvrches, and played festivals including SXSW Austin, The Great Escape, All Points East, Wide Awake, and Reeperbahn.

With influences as wide as slowcore, Drain Gang-style hip hop and the alt-rock steps of Alex G, the recent record sees the band further refine their signature sound while simultaneously curating a new terrain that translates stages of life.
