Hermitude Announce Eighth Studio Album, Plot National Tour

Australian electronic heavyweights Hermitude are entering their next era, with their eighth studio album and a national tour on the way

Australian electronic heavyweights Hermitude are entering their next era. The duo have announced their eighth studio album, EIGHT, due out April 17th, along with a national tour in support.

Meticulously crafted by a vision for energy, simplicity and genre-maxxing, EIGHT is built for collective release, designed to transform rooms into heaving, unified dance floors. It draws from techno, breaks, UK garage, the rapture of rave culture, and freeform genre-collision, doubling down on joy as resistance in a cultural moment defined by division and disconnection.

“Joy feels vital right now, almost like an act of rebellion against your own sense of gloom,” the duo shared. “The dance floor has always been one of the few places where differences dissolve.”

In celebration of the record, they’ll be bringing that joy to stages this April and May, kicking off at Newcastle’s Earp Distilling Co on April 19th, before Cairns’ The Factory on May 2nd, The Gov in Adelaide on May 15th, Perth’s ICF Warehouse on May 16th, Melbourne’s Northcote Theatre on May 22nd, Hobart’s Odeon on May 23rd, Sydney’s Metro Theatre on May 28th, and The Tivoli in Brisbane on May 20th.

Tickets will be available via a Spotify presale from 10am (AEDT) on Tuesday, February 17th, before an artist presale at 10am (AEDT) Wednesday, February 18th. General on sale tickets will be available from 10am (AEDT) on Thursday, February 19th.

The album continues Hermitude’s collaborative streak, following releases with DEVAURA and Adrian Dzvuke. Still to turn heads is a blistering collaboration with English punk rap duo Bob Vylan and the soaring, high-energy anthem with IsGwan – who will be supporting the duo across several tour dates.

With a career spanning more than two decades, Hermitude have cemented themselves as one of Australia’s most influential and pivotal electronic acts. Their breakthrough album Hyperparadise earned the Australian Music Prize, with its title track charting on the ARIA Charts, along with Flume remixing the track, surpassing 200 million streams. Follow up record Dark Night Sweet Light debuted at No. 1 on the ARIA Charts, propelled by the success of “The Buzz” with 250 million+ streams and hitting Platinum, firmly placing them on the global map.

Todays announcement arrives on the heels of “Over You”, a pulsing club weapon with nods to early ’90s warehouse raves, while previously released singles “Royalty” feat. Adrian Dzvuke rings out over rapturous synths and staccato percussion, and “For The Night” feat. DEVAUR is the idea that some moments stretch forever, yet feel light as breath. Together, these tracks set the tone for what’s to come on EIGHT.
