Hans. and hanbee have just unveiled a new video for their collaborative single “Warmer”.
The Korean-Kiwi artists first made the song together in 2021, kicking off a lasting long-distance musical partnership and friendship.
“At that time, hanbee was still living in Korea while I was in Auckland,” explains Hans.. “The song itself was inspired by ‘The Moon Song’ by Karen O, whose Crush Songs album had a huge influence on me during my university days. We even had an original video inspired by the movie Her that was filmed last year, but it never came out due to other projects and life getting in the way.”
The video, which is appropriately nostalgic, captures their travels across Sydney, Auckland, Seoul, Nha Trang, Tokyo, and Osaka.
Working with director Luke Park, the homemade footage captures the passage of time and the whirlwind period when they made the song. The sun-drenched travel montage really is the perfect complement for the wistful tone of “Warmer”, which you can watch below.
“‘Warmer’ is a chill and sweet song that juxtaposes a very hectic period in my life, filled with travel and transitions. I wanted the video to show all the time that’s passed since we first made it. Luke Park, who I’ve worked with on ‘Be Grateful’ and ‘Candy’, helped me film it along with a few other friends, and hanbee contributed clips from her own travels.
“It’s a special song for us as it encapsulates not only our friendship but also the individual experiences and sights we’ve seen,” Hans. adds.
Hans. and hanbee have also teamed up on previous singles like “weekenders” and “cozy”.
Sydney fans are in for a treat as they’ll get to catch Hans. and hanbee live at Golden Age on Saturday, July 20th. Tickets will be available here.
