It’s been a long time coming, but the highly-awaited announcement from Green Day, Fall Out Boy, and Weezer has arrived, with the news that the massive Hella Mega tour will finally make its way down under.

For months now, the world of rock and pop-punk has found itself completely abuzz with talk of one of the mightiest triple-headers in recent history. First teased last year, the mighty Green Day, Fall Out Boy, and Weezer announced that they would be hitting the road for the aptly-named Hella Mega Tour.

Kicking off in June of 2020, the tour featured a number of European and North American dates, but left Australian fans wondering when the shows might come their way. Earlier this week though, the teasing continued when all three bands hinted towards an Aussie announcement via social media.

Now, local fans have received the news they have so desperately been waiting for, with Australia set to host their own leg of the Hella Mega Tour this November.

Kicking off in Perth on November 8, the tour will travel across the country with dates in Melbourne and Sydney, before wrapping up in Brisbane on the 17th. To make things more exciting though, the trio will be bringing Kiwi indie outfit The Beths along for the ride, ensuring this will truly be a night to remember.

The massive tour announcement comes at a fitting time though, with Green Day releasing their 13th album, Father of All Motherfuckers, today. Meanwhile, Weezer’s 14th studio record, Van Weezer, is on track to be released in May, while Fall Out Boy recently released the tracks “Dear Future Self (Hands Up)” and “Bob Dylan” – their first new singles since 2018’s Mania.

As it stands, fans of all three bands have been waiting some time for their return, with Green Day last visiting in 2017, and both Weezer and Fall Out Boy touring separately during 2018.
