Gracie Abrams has blitzed this week’s ARIA charts with her latest album, Daughter From Hell.
The US star has taken out the No.1 position on the Albums chart with her third record, as well as topping the Vinyls chart. Abrams reached No. 30 in 2023 with Good Riddance and spent three weeks at No. 1 in 2024-25 with The Secret Of Us.
Rolling Stone praised Daughter From Hell, gifting the album a four-and-a-half-star rating.
“Right from the opening of Daughter From Hell, on the synth-happy “Hit the Wall,” Abrams tries to navigate why she ‘lives in a pattern of breakdowns,'” the review reads.
“She cleverly sneaks Joni Mitchell, her North Star, into a line: ‘A Case of You’ playing in the hallway/Hallucinations that I downplay.’ It sets the tone for the rest of Daughter From Hell, because just like the Canadian legend, Abrams knows her best weapon is her songwriting — no knives needed.”
Meanwhile, Melbourne artist Holly Hebe’s third EP, Mood Ring, has debuted at top spot on the Australian Albums list, while also coming in at No. 23 on the main Albums chart. Hebe finished ahead of Adelaide-formed Swapmeet with their debut effort, Mount Zero, at No. 2 (and No. 26 on the main list), and Ninajirachi’s I Love My Computer at No. 3.
The only other debuting album in the top 40 this week comes from Motionless in White with Decades at No. 5.
