Independent Music New Zealand (IMNZ) and the NZ Music Commission have revealed the final details for this year’s Going Global Music Summit, Aotearoa’s top music industry event.
The summit will be held at Q Theatre in Auckland on Thursday, August 28 and Friday, August 29. Alongside the main event, there will be 24 artist performances over two nights at Whammy! and Double Whammy! across three stages.
Confirmed keynote speakers include artists L.A.B, 9Lives, Princess Chelsea, and Gareth Shute from Lil’ Chief Records. Other guest speakers are Pixie Weyand, Music Festival Programmer at SXSW (who replaces Dev Sherlock), among other respected figures in music programming and artist development.
Dylan Pellett, General Manager of IMNZ, says: “The interest shown from the wider world in Aotearoa New Zealand artists has never been higher. We are really looking forward to all the connections and discussions to be had over these coming days and beyond.”

The full list of industry experts across areas like A&R, booking, licensing, management, marketing, promotion, and publishing will be announced soon, along with the full lineup of Aotearoa artists performing.
Among the 24 acts performing are Wiri Donna, There’s A Tuesday, Anthonie Tonnon, and rising stars Bub, Beth Torrance, The Garden Party, Ferby, IVY, and NOÉ.
Going Global has become a major launchpad for local artists in recent years. 2024 showcasing artist Phoebe Rings, for example, connected with Max Thomas (Reason Why Management / Secretly Group) at the event, with Thomas subsequently signing them to his management roster and overseeing their international career. Phoebe Rings have since earned a glowing album review from Rolling Stone AU/NZ, and will support The Beths across North America later this year.
“Everyone at Going Global is there because they want to discover the best new artists before the rest of the industry does,” says Thomas. “It’s an incredible chance to get a leg-up on the global stage. If you’re a local artist and haven’t played Going Global yet — 1000% apply!”
