Gang of Youths made their long-awaited return to Sydney last week, performing their first hometown shows in over four years.
After an intimate show at Anita’s Theatre in Thirroul on Thursday (August 6th), the Sydney-born, London-based band took over Sydney Opera House’s Concert Hall on Saturday night (August 8th), marking their first-ever performance inside the iconic space.

At the sold-out performance, Gang of Youths revisited material from across their catalogue, including songs from their most recent album, angel in realtime., alongside earlier fan favourites including “The Deepest Sighs, the Frankest Shadows” – joined by fellow Australian singer Gretta Ray – and “Let Me Down Easy”.

Since breaking through with The Positions, they have collected four ARIA Awards and 24 ARIA nominations, while both Go Farther in Lightness and Angel in Realtime topped the Australian charts. The latter also claimed Album of the Year honours at both the ARIA Awards and the J Awards.
Along the way, the band have built a reputation for emotionally charged songwriting and explosive live performances, touring alongside acts including Foo Fighters, Mumford & Sons, and Sam Fender.
