Brisbane’s largest free street party, Valley Fiesta, is back for 2025 and boasts a strong Aussie lineup.

On Saturday, October 11th, Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley will be transformed into a celebration of live music across two main stages in Brunswick Street and the Valley Malls.

Headlining the festival is surf rock duo, Hockey Dad, local singer-songwriter Sycco and, off the back of his latest single “Dancing 2”, Keli Holiday. DJ sets will also be held in Winn Lane to keep the beats going late into the night.

Now in its 29th year, the free festival has become a rite of passage for Brisbane gig-goers. From local indie bands to national heavy-hitters, Valley Fiesta wants to help foster Australia’s live music talent.

Given Music Australia’s recent study into the local music industry, which reveals cost is the primary barrier for Australians attending live events, free festivals like Valley Fiesta are an excellent way for punters of all ages to discover new artists and for burgeoning talent to hit a main stage.

This local talent includes psychedelic Sydney four-piece The Lazy Eyes, Brisbane punks VOIID, and Sonic Reducer, fresh off their sold-out European tour with Royel Otis. Rising star and QMusic Emerging Artist of the year, Lottie McLeod, will showcase her sharp songwriting while alt-rock band Special Features will share their grunge-style tracks.

Brisbane-based trio, Tjaka, are set to mix electronic beats and rap to create a sound made up of funk, reggae, and dance. Eight-piece band TYDE will bring their expansive soul-meets-jazz sound to the Valley, proving why they’re fast becoming festival favourites.

Presented by the Brisbane City Council and in partnership with legendary venue The Tivoli and the music industry development association QMusic, Valley Fiesta is a celebration of music, culture and community.

All-ages, free festival Valley Fiesta kicks off from 2pm on Saturday, October 11th in the Fortitude Valley. Head to Brisbane City Council’s website for more information.
