The mighty Flume is back doing what he does best, having dropped his drum ‘n’ bass-inspired single “The Difference” earlier today.

It looks as though Flume is gearing up to embark on another massive year, with the Australian musician sharing his latest single, “The Difference”.

Following a few years of comparable silence, global electronic music icon Flume returned in 2019, sharing a litany of stunning tunes. Between his Hi This Is Flume mixtape, his Quits EP, and singles such as “Let You Know” and the Hottest 100 silver medallist “Rushing Back”, there’s no denying that Harley Streten had a rather massive year.

Now, after being announced as the headline act for the 2020 Splendour in the Grass lineup, it turns out that Flume might be including some new music in his set, sharing his latest single “The Difference” today.

Featuring Toro y Moi, the new track comes alongside a colourful new music video directed by Jonathan Zawada. The tune also doubles as the soundtrack to the latest Apple AirPod Pro campaign, which can be seen below.

Speaking of the track, Flume notes: “We made this song between a day at my place in LA and a day at Chaz’s spot in Oakland. This was our first time working together, I’ve been a Toro y Moi fan for a while. His song “Talamak” is a longtime favourite. I listened to that one a lot when I first started Flume as a project.”

For folks hoping to catch this one live, you’ll have to hope you’ve managed to get tickets to Splendour in the Grass, with this exclusive performance looking set to be his only Australian show for the year.

Meanwhile, an upcoming three-night residency in Colorado is set to see the artist bring his Flume & Friends show to the live stage, with the likes of Clams Casino, Kučka, and Cashmere Cat on deck to help pay homage to three eras of his musical career.
