Father John Misty is back with another new song, “She Cleans Up,” off his forthcoming album, Mahashmashana.

“She Cleans Up” is a stomping glam-and-grit rocker driven by a chunky bass line, splashy baselines, and guitar riffs designed to be blown to rattle the casings of your speakers. “I know just how this thing ends/Hallelujah, guess we gave the karmic wheel a spin,” Josh Tillman sings on one chorus, “I know just how this thing ends/The aggrieved becomes aggressor/And we do it all again.”

Along with dropping “She Cleans Up,” FJM has announced a headlining tour in support of Mahashmashana. The run will kick off next year, Feb. 12, 2025, at the Signal in Chattanooga, Tennessee and run all the way through March 1 in Washington D.C. Destroyer will provide support throughout the trek, except during the first night gig in Chattanooga.

Tickets for all shows will go on sale this Friday, Oct. 18, at 10 a.m. local time, while a fan presale begins Oct. 16 at 10 a.m. local time. Full info is available on Father John Misty’s website.

Mahashmashana is set to arrive on Nov. 22 on Sub Pop. It marks Father John Misty’s sixth album and follows his 2022 effort, Chloë and the Next 20th Century. Prior to releasing “She Cleans Up,” he shared “Screamland” and “I Guess Time Just Makes Fools of Us All.” (The latter track was released back in August and appeared on the new FJM compilation, Greatish Hits.)
