This week, Sydney is welcoming something unmissable: Yungblud: IDOLS, a never-before-seen photography exhibition celebrating one of modern rock’s most explosive talents – and we’ve got your exclusive first look.

Yungblud: IDOLS captures over 18 months of raw, unfiltered moments from the Doncaster-born rockstar’s journey, mixing personal moments with pivotal scenes.

Acclaimed British photographer Tom Pallant has captured his evolution, frame by frame, following how he has become one of the most influential figures of modern alt-rock. The work is officially endorsed by Yungblud, who considers Pallant a creative collaborator, not just a go-to photographer.

Presented by Behind The Gallery, the exhibition lands in Newtown from January 8th-11th at 551 King Street – and yes, it’s free.

On Friday, January 9th, the gallery will throw a full album playback, while on Saturday, January 10th – the night of Yungblud’s Sydney concert – it will host a pre-concert meetup for fans headed to Qudos Bank Arena.

Of the gallery’s debut, Pallant told Rolling Stone AU/NZ: “I’m incredibly excited to share this selection of images from the Yungblud: IDOLS campaign for the first time in Sydney. Australia has always given Dom a warm reception, and the two tours I’ve been able to do here have reflected that. The shows are consistently electric and the energy is unmatched, so bringing this exhibition to life at the start of the tour feels especially significant.

“There’s something uniquely powerful about seeing work printed at a large scale. It offers a completely different perspective on the images and has been invaluable in refining the final selection for the gallery,” he explained of the collection. “We shot thousands of images over the past 18 months, and these are the ones that best encapsulate IDOLS, from the recording process to press imagery to playing the music live for the first time. Some of these are being seen for the very first time, and being able to do that in a physical space is genuinely thrilling.

“I hope audiences get a real sense of the care and intention behind the visuals for this record, and just how mad a time we had shooting it.”

Yungblud’s tour comes in support of his June-released fourth studio album, IDOLS, which hit No. 1 in the UK and No. 4 in Australia. For complete tour and ticket information, see here.

The album features his Grammy nominated single “Zombie” , which stands as his fastest streaming solo single to date, with over 100 million streams.

Considered one of his most personal works, “Zombie” was written for his late grandmother who died from alcoholism. He recently released an acoustic version of the song, and a reimagined version in collaboration with The Smashing Pumpkins.

Yungblud: IDOLS promises to be one of the first big cultural moments of the year, giving fans a shared experience to get up close and personal with the rock star – you won’t want to miss it. See here for more details.
