Empire of the Sun have joined forces with Venezuelan singer Danny Ocean for new track “Llego,” which features on the FIFA World Cup 2026 soundtrack.
The album officially dropped today.
“The World Cup is a universal celebration that brings people together in an amazing way just like music does,” Empire’s Luke Steele said.
“‘Llego’ felt like the perfect song to live in these moments. The song is about unity and the beauty of home. Hope, courage, love, passion, heartbreak, and celebration.”

The release comes just weeks after Rolling Stone AU/NZ exclusively revealed that Empire of the Sun were the first Australian act to sell out three headline shows at London’s famous Alexandra Palace.
Empire performed to over 30,000 fans at the shows, which took place on June 24th, 27th and 28th, in support of their ‘Ask That God: Afterlife’ EU/UK tour. Only a handful of major acts have accomplished the same feat at the venue, which includes Florence + The Machine, Fred Again… and Dermot Kennedy.

Founding member Luke Steele is still on the road in support of Empire’s July 2024 record, Ask That God, their fourth top ten album in as many albums.
Following an Australian headline run in late 2024, Empire of the Sun are now halfway through a world tour and will play 51 shows across 18 countries this year alone to an estimated 450,000 fans across Europe, the UK and North America.
The tour continues through Ireland, the Netherlands, France and Luxembourg before the band launch their North American run with a landmark appearance at Lollapalooza on July 30th. Marking their most extensive tour to date, the North American leg stretches through October with 31 headline dates, including iconic venues Red Rocks Amphitheatre in
Colorado and the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, as well as festival appearances at Osheaga, Up In The Sky and Outside Lands.
