Emma Swift has announced that her next project will be a Bob Dylan cover album, with the new record featuring reimagined versions of Dylan classics.
Announced on Sunday evening, Swift used the recent celebration of Dylan’s birthday to reveal that Blonde on the Tracks will be officially released on August 14th.
“In honour of the majestic Bob Dylan’s birthday I am delighted to announce Blonde On The Tracks, a reimagining of some of my favourite BD tunes will be out on Tiny Ghost Records on August 14,” Swift wrote on Facebook.
“Limited edition orange vinyl, as well as classic black vinyl, download and cd. No streaming! Pre-order now for your exclusive download of ‘I Contain Multitudes’.”
“This album was made with love and care in Nashville, TN before (six songs) and during (two songs) the pandemic,” she continued.
“Produced by the phenomenal Patrick Sansone of Wilco and featuring some of my very talented friends, including Robyn Hitchcock. More info to come soon.”
While Bob Dylan celebrated his 79th birthday on Sunday, he’s spent the last few months releasing new songs – such as “Murder Most Foul” and “False Prophet” – as singles from Rough and Rowdy Ways, his first album of original tracks since 2012.
Emma Swift’s Blonde on the Tracks is set for release on August 14th, with pre-orders available now.
