Berlin-based fuzz-rock duo Earth Tongue have released their third album, Dungeon Vision, via In Red Records.
Guitarist Gussie Larkin and drummer Ezra Simons refined Dungeon Vision’s twelve tracks in their self-described “windowless cave” rehearsal space in Berlin last winter, before heading to Los Angeles, where they worked alongside garage king Ty Segall to record and mix the album in just ten days at Altamira Sound.
Tracked live to tape, Dungeon Vision pulses with human energy, fuzz guitars, bone-battering drums, and hauntingly tuneful vocals. It features singles “Silver Eye”, “Ritual”, “Orbit of a Witch”, and the title track, which was the first of the new material written.
Segall’s influence is all over the record, having picked the best takes based on feel rather than technical perfection. The result carries a palpable urgency, sweat, adrenaline and instinct embedded in the performances pushing Earth Tongue into new creative territory while preserving the kinetic intensity of their sound.
Dungeon Vision follows the duo’s previous album Great Haunting, which was included in our 80 Best New Zealand Albums of the 2020s So Far list.
“The fuzz-rock duo create an unrelenting racket from start to finish on their second album, a record that perfectly announced their arrival on the LA-based label In the Red Records,” we wrote.”

“It’s blistering rock ‘n’ roll that has unsurprisingly won Earth Tongue key support slots for Ty Segall and Queens of the Stone Age, legions of fans around Europe, and a cult following back home.”
Kicking off tonight in Kerikeri, Earth Tongue are taking Dungeon Vision on tour, with more shows set for Auckland, Hamilton, Dunedin, Christchurch, and Wellington later this month. They’ll then head to Australia, with Segall, for shows on the Gold Coast, Brisbane, Bangalow, Wollongong, Sydney, Melbourne, and Barwon Heads.
Earth Tongue’s Dungeon Vision is out now.
