Entries close in just a week to enter a competition to open for Australian pub rock band Dune Rats.
Dune Rats are running a NSW competition to search for three opening acts for a tour this month. Tickets are available here.
Over the weekend, brewing company Tooheys are aiming to revitalise pubs with a live music campaign called Tooheys on Tour.
Tooheys first posted on social media about the partnership, “It’s no secret that pubs and live music have been doing it hard recently.”
“Grab your mates, grab a schooner, and let’s make pubs rock again,” the post continued.
From Saturday, January 25th, Tooheys will host all three legs of the Tooheys on Tour circuit, with Bateau Bay’s Dune Rats headlining.
The company announced the competition and its details later on the same day, “Oi legends! Got a band and reckon you’ve got what it takes to warm up the stage for Dune Rats?”
Tooheys will pick “3 winners to join us at 3 massive shows!” Participants must post a cover of the Tooheys jingle “How Do You Feel?” (” I feel like a Tooheys” on Spotify), tag Dune Rats and Tooheys on Instagram, and post which gig they would like to play.
“Search ‘Tooheys’ on Spotify to check out the OG version of our jingle,” the brewery commented the post.
New South Wales bands and 18+only can enter the competition to support Dune Rats.

The jingle features a guitar introduction and rousing chorus that incites a sing-along. “How do you feel, fighting hard for every hour but they keep coming strong?” the opening line asks.

Tooheys will also be donating $10,000 to Support Act, a charity that provides crisis relief services to those in the music industry.
