Wellington pop favourites Drax Project will be hitting taverns and beach hotels with a series of summer shows in December and January.
After spending the last six months based in Sydney, the band is eager to return to Aotearoa armed with their signature blend of pop, funk, and electronic elements.
The “Summer Run” begins on Thursday, December 28th at the Mangawhai Tavern, followed by a show at the Waihi Beach Hotel on Friday, December 29th. On Wednesday, January 3rd fans can then catch the band at Shake & Bake at Upper Hutt’s Brewtown alongside Ocean Alley, Sublime with Rome and more.
The tour then heads north to Butlers Reef, Ōakura on Friday, January 5th with legendary Kiwi act Elemeno P, before concluding with a performance at Havelock North’s Black Barn on Friday, January 19th (see full details below).
Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, October 27th at 12pm local time. Taupo singer and songwriter Aacacia will join Drax Project as support for all these shows (see full dates below).
The upcoming shows will coincide with the release of Drax Project’s new album, Upside, which is scheduled for release on November 24th. To get fans ready for the full release, the band have today dropped the energetic single, “Oh My”, which you can listen to below.
After humbly beginning busking together on the streets of Wellington, Drax Project have risen to become one of the biggest Kiwi acts of the last few years. Their self-titled debut album from 2019 featured singles like “Woke Up Late”, “All This Time”, and “Catching Feelings”, a collaboration with Six60.
