Rhythm and Alps returns for its 15th anniversary this December, with grime pioneer Dizzee Rascal as the headliner.

The festival will take place from December 29th to 31st at Cardrona Valley, near Queenstown and Wanaka, and expects to draw over 10,000 attendees.

This year’s lineup features a mix of international and local artists, including UK acts Rudimental and Santigold alongside popular New Zealand performers such as The Black Seeds, Chaos In The CBD, Halfqueen, Corrella, and Lady Shaka.

Additional acts set to perform include Badger, Catching Cairo, Dombresky (Disco Dom), Fish56Octagon, Gentlemens Club, KANINE, Kurupt FM, Swimming Paul, Beccie B, Dick Johnson, Fiona & The Glow, Natty Lou, Nice Girl, Pages Layn, SUUNE, and Th’ Goodside.

Organisers have also promised more artist announcements in the coming weeks.

Campers’ Night will return on December 29 with an upgraded premium camping zone and exclusive performances, though tickets for this day are limited to 1,000. Festival-goers can expect three days of music paired with stunning mountain scenery, just a short drive from both Queenstown and Wanaka.

Last year’s lineup featured Australian pop-rock duo Lime Cordiale, Aotearoa electronic producer Montell2099, British DJ Clipz, Melbourne-based producer and DJ Aroha, and Lebanese-Australian group Human Movement.

In related news, Northern Bass, another New Zealand festival known for its electronic music, is returning in 2025 under a new name, JNGL25. After 13 years, the event has been scaled back from a three-day format to a two-day event centered on the Jungle Stage.

Due to rising production costs and lower-than-expected attendance last year, capacity will be reduced to around 6,000, roughly half of previous years. Ticketing will focus on more affordable one- and two-day passes to encourage wider access.

Tickets are on sale now. For more information on Rhythm and Alps, visit rhythmandalps.co.nz.
