Crowded House have announced another new show for their upcoming Australian tour, with acclaimed US singer-songwriter Cat Power also confirmed to be joining them for several dates.
The band will now play at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena on Tuesday, November 22nd. It follows the two sold-out Sidney Myer Music Bowl shows they played in the city back in April.
Crowded House confirmed the rescheduled Dreamers Are Waiting tour dates earlier this year, after Neil Finn’s COVID-19 diagnosis caused the final four shows to be postponed.
The expanded November tour now includes shows in Darwin, Cairns, Townsville, Wollongong, Sydney, Tamworth and Canberra, with four rescheduled A Day On The Green Shows also set for the same month (see full dates below).
Tickets go on sale to the general public on Thursday, August 11th at 11am local time. The Live Nation presale begins on Wednesday, August 10th at 10am local time (runs for 24 hours).
Crowded House will be joined by Cat Power at the Rod Laver Arena and at all three Perth shows. Renowned for her wonderful songwriting, the singer-songwriter has been one of indie rock’s foremost figures for over two decades. She released her third covers album, Covers, earlier this year, which included a take on Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds’ “I Had a Dream, Joe”.
Prior to the postponement earlier this year, the Dreamers Are Waiting tour had received strong reviews. The Guardian hailed it as “a joyous and long-awaited return to Australia,” even noting that for some fans it felt like “a quasi-religious experience”; The Age, meanwhile, wrote that “Crowded House filled the (Sidney Myer) Bowl with love.”
