COTERIE are back.

The Aotearoa-born, Australia-based band have returned with new single “Lay Your Head”, their first release of 2026, which stays rooted in their familiar reggae-led sound, driven by the bond between the four brothers.

“Lay Your Head”, which leans into the band’s signature blend of coastal rhythms and laid-back grooves, follows their 2025 “PRETTY GYAL”.

Befitting the sibling band, COTERIE’s new single carries a focus on support, loyalty, and emotional grounding, built around the idea of being able to rely on your people. The band describe “Lay Your Head” as a reflection of their own connections as brothers, shaped by both music and lived experience.

“Lay Your Head” was written by COTERIE alongside Josh Fountain and Jaden Parkes (LEISURE), produced by Josh Fountain (BENEE, LEISURE), and mixed by Simon Gooding (TEEKS, Balu Brigada, Drax Project).

COTERIE — Brandford, Conrad, Joshua, and Tyler Fisher (Te Aupouri, Ngāpuhi, Ngāi Te Rangi) — have built a solid reputation over the past few years as one of the most consistent live bands across Aotearoa and Australia.

Since their breakout 2022 single “Cool It Down”, the band have picked up multiple awards including Best New Artist at the 2023 Rolling Stone Aotearoa Awards and Breakthrough Artist of the Year at the 2024 Aotearoa Music Awards.

Despite the accolades, the brothers insist little has changed. “We’re still just making music in our garage, it’s hectic,” Conrad previously told Rolling Stone AU/NZ in an exclusive interview. “We’re local boys who just live on the coast.”

That down-to-earth attitude has powered an intense couple of years on the road, including more than 20 headline shows across Australia and New Zealand and stretches through Europe and the UK supporting Lime Cordiale and The Cat Empire, plus plenty of festival appearances along the way.
