Coldplay have released their latest music video, “Man In The Moon”, and it’s a love letter to Singapore.

The clip, now on YouTube, showcases stunning shots of Jewel Changi Airport, Gardens by the Bay, Marina Bay Sands, and a performance scene with the band on a floating stage against the city skyline.

Other featured locations include People’s Park Complex in Chinatown, Fort Canning Park, S.E.A. Aquarium at Resorts World Sentosa, Level Up – Arcade and Live Music Bar, and MacPherson Neighbourhood Mountain Coffee in Geylang.

Los Angeles-based filmmaker Ben Mor, who previously directed Coldplay’s Hymn for the Weekend (2015), shared a teaser on Instagram, writing, “Excited for this one.”

In a recent Rolling Stone cover story, Coldplay’s Chris Martin spoke about the band’s creative freedom. “There’ve been times where we [were like], ‘Well, we should probably try and look a bit like this or talk a bit like that,’ ” Martin said. “And now, it’s just like, ‘No.’ Just follow whatever’s being sent. And that’s a very liberating place to be. If you want a puppet to sing a bit of a song, well, some people might not like this — my mum being one of them, for example. But my point is, that’s part of my journey to be like, ‘Well, I love you, and this is what we’re doing.’ ”

Martin also shares the meaning behind many Coldplay songs including the classic “A Sky Full of Stars.”

Coldplay performed a stadium tour across Australia in October 2024 as part of their ongoing Music of the Spheres World Tour.

“Man In The Moon” is taken from Moon Music (Full Moon Edition), the bonus edition of their 10th studio album Moon Music (2024).

Meanwhile, following the completion of their Music of the Spheres tour in Australia, Moon Music (via Parlophone Records/Warner Music) soared to No. 1 on the ARIA Chart, published Friday, Nov. 11, marking its first stint at the top after initially peaking at No. 2 upon its October release.
