Coldplay have released a new single, “We Pray,” featuring Little Simz, Burna Boy, Tini, and Elyanna. The uplifting track is available in five versions, including a live version from the band’s 2024 Glastonbury headlining set, where they initially premiered the song.

The five versions are available now on EcoCD and in recycled 12” format, while the Tini version will be available on streaming sites on Sept. 6 and the Elyanna version will follow on Sept. 20. The Glastonbury live rendition is exclusive to the physical versions.

“We Pray” comes off Coldplay’s forthcoming LP, Moon Music, out Oct. 4. The single follows the band’s recent release, “Feels Like I’m Falling in Love” — stylised as “feelslikeimfallinginlove” — which dropped in June.

Coldplay announced Moon Music, their 10th studio album and follow-up to 2021’s Music of the Spheres, earlier this summer. Prior to releasing “Feels Like I’m Falling in Love,” the band debuted another new song, “All My Love,” at their first-ever concert in Athens, Greece. Martin quipped that the crowd wasn’t supposed to hear the song until September, suggesting it’s likely to appear on Moon Music (though a full track list still hasn’t been released).

When Coldplay did announce Moon Music, the band said they would release the album on a variety of formats that meet “new sustainability standards.” For instance, each copy of the album pressed on vinyl will be made from nine recycled plastic bottles, while the CD version will be made form 90 percent recycled polycarbonate. The band said these efforts would reduce CO2 emissions in production by at least 78 percent and avoid the use of more than five metric tonnes of virgin plastic.

Coldplay is currently on the road for their Music of Spheres Tour. Earlier this week, they paid tribute to Taylor Swift during the band’s tour stop in Vienna, Austria when singer Chris Martin performed “Love Story” with opener Maggie Rogers. He dedicated the song to Swift and her fans following the forced cancellation of her shows in the city earlier this month after an attempted terror plot.

“Of course, we haven’t mentioned that Vienna was in the news all over the world for all the wrong reasons. But what reached us was the beauty and the kindness of all of Taylor Swift’s fans,” Martin said, addressing Ernst Happel Stadium, the same one Swift was set to play two weeks prior.
