As they get closer to the release of their long-awaited second album, Melbourne’s Client Liaison are bringing their music to fans’ homes this week, teaming up with KFC and ReachOut for a “Couch Party” livestream.
Hosted by KFC and broadcast on their Facebook page, the event is set to kick off at 6pm AEST on Friday, May 15th, and will feature the group performing a number of their notable tracks.
Though it is planned as something of an end-of-week musical celebration, the appearance is made in conjunction with ReachOut; an online mental health service for young people in Australia.
Vocalist Monte Morgan and keyboardist Harvey Miller from Client Liaison said: “We’re excited to bring a bit of Client Liaison into people’s homes during this time of isolation for the first KFC Couch Party,” explained Client Liaison’s Monte Morgan and Harvey Miller.
“We’ll be using our situation to take a new approach on our songs as well as preview what’s next to come. We’re also stoked with Reach Out’s involvement, knowing that we’re shining a light on their free online services available for young people whenever they need them.”
“When it comes to our mental health and wellbeing there are small things we can do every day that make a big difference,” added ReachOut CEO, Ashley de Silva. “Listening to music and connecting with others online are great ways to give yourself a boost.
“So by partnering with KFC and Client Liaison we hope the Couch Party will help brighten the day for young Aussies and act as a reminder to check in with yourself and a friend on mental wellbeing. We want to use this opportunity to let as many young people as possible know that free mental health support is available 24/7 at ReachOut.com with whatever life throws at you.”
Client Liaison’s debut album, Diplomatic Immunity, was released in November of 2016, with a handful of singles being shared since 2018.
Though the pair have previously noted they’ve been working on their second studio record, there have currently been no updates as to when it may arrive. There might be updates on Friday night, but you’d have to tune into KFC’s Couch Party to find out.
