As Queen gear up to kick off their Australian tour this week, iconic guitarist Brian May has been filmed in an altercation with a reporter in Brisbane.
Having embarked on their three-date tour of New Zealand over the last week, May and the rest of the band made their arrival into Brisbane on Tuesday afternoon, ahead of their Australian tour kick-off on Thursday.
However, footage from 7News has shown that tensions may have been a little high after the guitarist landed in Queensland, with May seen berating a cameraman.
The footage shows May taking photos with fans at the airport, before taking exception to the cameraman’s presence in the situation. “Alright, this is going to get ugly, because you put this down or else something ugly happens, do you understand?” he asks the cameraman.

Although the cameraman obliged with May’s request, he soon pulled out his phone to continue recording in what appeared to be an effort to outsmart the guitarist. “Oh, you’re clever aren’t you?” May continued. “What a parasite you are. Just leave us alone will you?”
“Do you not understand?” May can be heard asking before appearing to strike the camera. “I’m sorry it was made ugly by this guy,” he apologised to fans.
Although the footage from 7News doesn’t display the events leading up to the altercation, May’s response seems to indicate that he took issue with the cameraman being on hand to document the more private interactions with fans.
Queen are set to begin their Australian tour in Brisbane tomorrow night, and will wrap things up in the Gold Coast on February 29.
