American indie folk sensation Bon Iver – aka Justin Vernon – has unveiled details of his first album in six years, SABLE, fABLE, and will drop a new single on Friday.

The album is due out on April 11th and includes the three songs he released on his SABLE EP late last year along with nine new tracks.

It’s been billed as “a love story set to lush, radiant pop music” and the new material has been described as “a new nine-song saga in which one person becomes two, darkness turns to salmon-coloured beauty, and sadness transforms to unbridled joy.”

SABLE, fABLE was produced by Vernon and Jim-E Stack and mostly recorded at Vermon’s April Base in Wisconsin, US.  The first song which sparked the rest of the album was recorded there while Vernon and Danielle Haim were snowed in during wild weather in February 2022. They ended up creating the duet “If Only I Could Wait”, duet with crucial perspective, about not having the strength to be the best version of yourself outside the glow of new love.

The next track to be featured from the album is “Everything Is Peaceful Love”, aptly being released on Friday February 14th, aka Valentine’s Day. The single will arrive alongside a music video shot and edited by filmmaker John Wilson. It has been described as telling “the portrait of a man overwhelmed with happiness upon meeting the one he will fall in love with.”

Bon Iver is set to speak more about the album in a wide-ranging conversation with New York Times bestselling author, Krista Tippett on Friday, February 21st.
