Birds of Tokyo Return with New Single, ‘Superglue’

Featuring Stand Atlantic’s Bonnie Fraser, “Superglue” serves as the first new piece of Birds of Tokyo music for 2021.

Close to a year on from standalone single “Weekend”, Birds of Tokyo have returned with another classic track, sharing “Superglue” today.

The first Birds of Tokyo song to feature an additional artist, “Superglue” boasts vocals from Stand Atlantic’s Bonnie Fraser, who adds another side to the narrative told within the track.

“We always heard this song as coming from two distinct viewpoints so it made sense to share the vocals and get both sides of the story,” explains guitarist/songwriter/producer Adam Spark. “We’re all fans of Stand Atlantic so Bonnie was the first name on our list. Hopefully we can get to play the song live together somewhere when borders eventually reopen.”

“We are so excited to team up with Birds of Tokyo for ‘Superglue’,” added Fraser. “The guys have been a staple of Australian rock music for years and so when they asked us to be a part of the release it was a no-brainer!”

A slow-burning piece of powerful rock from Birds of Tokyo and Fraser, “Superglue” feels like a continuation of the heartfelt, confident sound explored within last year’s chart-topping Human Design.

“Superglue” is described as being the first taste of the group’s latest batch of tunes, though currently there is no definite information as to when this new collection will arrive.

Birds of Tokyo are currently slated to serve as special guests on the forthcoming tour for Rolling Stone Australia cover artist Keith Urban during his forthcoming The Speed of Now world tour in December.

Birds of Tokyo’s “Superglue” is out now.
