Billie Eilish teams up with James Cameron to revamp the modern concert film in the first trailer for Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour (Live in 3D). In theaters March 20, 2026, the release will capture the biggest tour of the 23-year-old musician’s career. The run, which wrapped last month, consisted of 106 shows across four continents beginning in September 2024.
“We’re using tech that’s never been used before,” Cameron says in the trailer. “No one’s shot a concert film on this scale before.” Eilish and Cameron co-directed the film, gathering footage from the tour as well as behind-the-scenes content. In the opening scene of the trailer, Eilish spies on a group of fans camping outside the venue. When she posts a photo from the window above them, alerting her presence, even more fans swarm to wave hello.
The Hit Me Hard and Soft tour marked Eilish’s first stretch of live shows without her brother and producer, Finneas. In the trailer, she shares a note he left for her ahead of her first show on her own. “It’s been the joy of my life to travel the world with you three times over and watch you hold every person who comes to your shows in the palm of your hand,” he wrote, bringing Eilish to tears. “Good luck tonight but you don’t need it, no one does it like you do.”
Eilish first revealed her collaboration with Cameron in July during her stretch of shows in Manchester. “Basically, I can’t say much about it,” Eilish told the crowd. “But what I can say is that I’m working on something very, very special with somebody named James Cameron, and it’s going to be in 3D. So, take that as you will, and these four shows here in Manchester, you and me, are part of a thing that I am making with him. He’s in this audience somewhere, just saying. So don’t mind that, and also I’ll probably be wearing this exact outfit for like four days in a row.”
