Big Thief have shared the studio rendition of their live favorite, “Born for Loving You,” ahead of next month’s release of a 7″ single boasting the track as the B-side to the band’s other 2023 single, “Vampire Empire.”

Like “Vampire Empire,” the rollicking “Born for Loving You” has been a live staple on Big Thief’s tour in support of their latest album, Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe in You, with Adrianne Lenker and company performing the track nearly 30 times since debuting it onstage back in February.

“Cause I was born for lovin’ you / Just somethin’ I was made to do,” Lenker sings on the chorus. “Doesn’t matter what dreams come true / I was born for loving you.”

The studio version of “Born for Loving You” was recorded during Big Thief’s European tour, with the band entering Catalonia’s Teatre De Cal Eril Studio with producer Dom Monks to play down the track; the same session resulted in the studio rendition of “Vampire Empire.”

The 7″ single with “Vampire Empire” and “Born for Loving You” is still available to preorder now ahead of its October 20 release. Big Thief recently wrapped up a North American summer tour that included a headlining gig at the Pitchfork Music Festival.
