New Zealand alt-pop sensation BENEE is continuing her banner 2020 with the release of the official video for new single “Night Garden”.

The visualiser for BENEE’s team-up with in-demand producer Kenny Beats (Denzel Curry, Vince Staples) and UK rising star Bakar comes care of animator and illustrator Alisa.

Alisa portrays BENEE as she embarks on a dark and curious adventure in the Night Garden. The track and clip are yet another insight into BENEE’s fears of being taken in the night.

The fear was hinted at in last year’s Stella & Steve EP (“Monsta”) and in “Night Garden” the fear seems to have become more pronounced.

I wonder if he’ll jump right out / cover my face and hold me down,” she sings on the single.

The video’s release follows a host of career sign-post moments for BENEE. After “Supalonely” found viral fame on TikTok earlier this year, the single featuring Gus Dapperton is now Certified Platinum in the U.S., has amassed over 1.4 billion streams worldwide and is currently charting at #10 on the U.S. Top 40 Radio Chart.

BENEE was also given the nod of approval from Apple Music when the streaming giant named her as their first Up Next artist from New Zealand. More than that, the likes of Elton John, Jimmy Fallon and Ellen are singing her praises, and she was tapped for a Beat x Beat video from Beats By Dre, where she was joined by songwriter Jenna Andrews and producer Josh Fountain to discuss the origins of “Supalonely”.

While touring is currently off the cards for most artists, BENEE was recently announced as one of the main artists to be performing at the 2021 edition of Yours & Owls Festival when it takes place in January of next year.
