After a couple of weeks of teasing, Ball Park Music have returned with the latest taste of their forthcoming self-titled album, releasing “Day & Age” this morning.

Having released “Spark Up!” as the first single from the record formerly known as Mostly Sunny, Ball Park Music took to social media recently to tease the release of their next single. Officially released this morning, “Day & Age” serves as the latest tune to be lifted from the group’s new album.

An indie-rock cut that effortlessly showcases the sound of Ball Park Music that fans have come to know and love, “Day & Age” is accompanied by a Nick Maguire-directed music video that shows frontman Sam Cromack swimming in Fortitude Valley’s outdoor swimming pool.

Serving as a testament to their craft, the video was in fact shot on May 23rd, which just so happened to be Brisbane’s coldest day in close to a century.

Currently, there’s no word as to when Ball Park Music will be releasing their first record since 2018, though an interview with triple j in April saw the group looking at their new self-titled album as a “new chapter” in their lives.

“More often than not, a self-titled record is typically a band’s first, so to do it midway through your career, it makes it a little bit scary,” Cromack explained. “But it also feels like a great opportunity to say ‘we’ve arrived!”

“We’re really comfortable in our skin and know who we are. We’ve moved beyond really giving a f**k about what anyone else thinks. We’re feeling really positive about this record and it’s a weird time to release it, but it feels like the beginning of a new chapter. It’s exciting!”
