Baker Boy is taking his DJANDJAY era on the road once again, announcing a massive 19-date regional Australian tour for early 2027.

Presented by triple j, the ‘Baked Summer Tour’ will see the multi-award-winning Yolŋu rapper bring his high-energy live show to venues across Queensland, New South Wales, the ACT and Victoria, including several locations he will visit for the first time.

Kicking off at Burleigh Town Hotel on the Gold Coast on Friday, January 8th, the tour will make its way through Newcastle, Coffs Harbour, Byron Bay, Rockhampton, Bundaberg and more, before heading north for shows in Mackay, Townsville and Cairns. The run concludes at Warrnambool’s Whalers Hotel on Saturday, March 13th.

For fans who caught his recent headline run, Baker Boy promises an entirely new experience.

“It’s been a huge year for DJANDJAY, I’ve been touring it all over, but excited to bring this new era of Baker Boy to regional areas,” he said. “You mob really know how to party so we’ve rebuilt the show to put on something epic, even if you’ve caught a headline show already, you don’t wanna miss this. It’s time for a BAKED SUMMER. Let’s effn (sic) rave.”

The announcement follows the release of the deluxe edition of DJANDJAY, Baker Boy’s acclaimed second album, which has earned five nominations at the upcoming ARIA Awards, including Best Solo Artist, Best Hip Hop/Rap Release and Best Australian Live Act.

Named in honour of his late grandmother and a Yolŋu spiritual figure represented by an octopus that guides souls forward, DJANDJAY has marked another significant chapter for the rapper, exploring personal loss, identify and cultural connection.

The album also dominated this year’s National Indigenous Music Awards in Darwin, where Baker Boy took home three major honours.

As previously reported by Rolling Stone AU/NZ, DJANDJAY claimed Album of the Year, while “THICK SKIN”, featuring Thelma Plum, Emma Donovan, Kee’ahn and Jada Weasel, won both Song of the Year and Film Clip of the Year. Baker Boy also performed the track at the ceremony, bringing Donovan out as a surprise guest.

Since emerging in 2017, Baker Boy has become one of Australia’s most celebrated contemporary artists, bringing Yolŋu language and culture to audiences around the world. His 2021 debut album, Gela, reached No. 3 on the ARIA Albums Chart and went on to collect five ARIAs, including Album of the Year.
