Bad//Dreems Share COVID-19 Anthem “I Wanna Self Isolate with You”

“An ode to COVID19, lyrically the best work we’ve done,” Bad//Dreems said of the song.

Bad//Dreems have faced an impending period of self-isolation with good humour.

Adelaide rock outfit Bad//Dreems have looked to the lighter side of the current global pandemic, offering up a small acoustic number in the wake of COVID-19 cancellations.

The group had spent much of March over in the UK, having made plans to embark on a tour of the United Kingdom and Europe some months ago. However, following a show supporting Sydney’s DMA’S and only a handful of performances in England, the group made the announcement that they’ve been forced to cancel the remainder of their tour due to COVID-19.

Despite Bad//Dreems now looking ahead to the long flight home and a 14 day period of self-isolation, frontman Ben Marwe has offered up a witty acoustic number outlining the benefits of staying home during a global pandemic.

“An ode to COVID19, lyrically the best work we’ve done,” the band wrote alongside a video of the track, which sees Marwe belting out soon-to-be classic lines such as “We could shave our pubes, play with Rubik’s Cubes/Clean out the shed, Kama Sutra in bed/I could teach you piano, then we’ll call your nanna/Think about life while it’s throwing us spanners“.

Of course, a witty acoustic response to a current event isn’t foreign to Australian music lovers, with Bad//Dreems’ tourmates The Chats recently criticising Prime Minister Scott Morrison’s inaction to the Australian bushfires with “I Hope Scott’s House Burns Down“.

Bad//Dreems’ future tour plans have also been affected somewhat, with appearances at the Unleash The Elephant festival in Brisbane in March and the Bad Friday Weekender in Marrickville in April being cancelled. It’s currently unknown if the band’s regional tour – which kicks off late next month – will also go ahead as planned.
