Close to one year on from when their planned visit to Australia was set to occur, and just months before their rescheduled dates were set to take place, the Backstreet Boys have announced a run of rescheduled Australian dates as part of their ‘DNA World Tour’.

Originally set to visit Australia in May of 2020, the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic saw the group forced to reschedule their first visit of the country in five years to May of, 2021. However, with just under two months to go until the planned kick-off, ongoing border closures and restrictions have seen the outfit reschedule their tour once more.

“We can’t wait to visit you all down under,” the group explained in a statement that was also shared in video format on social media. “We were hoping to have better news, however it doesn’t seem it is going to be possible for us to go back out on the road just yet.

“The Backstreet Boys will be back in Australia and New Zealand in, 2022,” they continued. “Those of you who already have tickets, please hang on to those tickets as they will be valid for the new dates. We can’t wait to get back to doing what we love and that’s performing for you.

“We miss you, we look forward to getting back out on the road, getting back out on that stage and interacting with the fans each night. We can’t wait to bring back the Backstreet Boys experience to you soon.”

The new dates will now take place across March of, 2022, with headline performances planned for Perth, Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane, with an additional show set to wrap up their tour in Auckland. Tickets to the new dates are on sale now, while Previously-purchased tickets remain valid.
