Ava Max is sharing the first visual offering of her upcoming third album. On Tuesday, the pop star released the video for her emotional single, “Lost Your Faith,” as she confirmed new music is on the way.
“My first video of the year and my first off the new album,” Max wrote on Instagram. “So happy to finally be here with you.”
The Claire Arnold-directed video captures the singer in a golden bra-top singing along to the lyrics in between clips of her cuddling and kissing with actor Finn Wittrock as she sings, “I used to have you on your knees all night, but now you never pray/And when you looked at me you saw the light, but now you’ve turned away.”
Max described the song as a “message of love and hope” in a press release. “Somewhere in the wreckage, you realize you’re still standing,” she said. “You piece yourself back together: not into who you were, but someone stronger, someone more certain of their own light.”
The video comes as a surprise for some of Max’s fans since she was away from social media for some time. “So sorry for being MIA, I’ve been sick the last week and had to go to the hospital for some health problems,” Max wrote on X Tuesday. “I’m better now.”
Last year, Max released a handful of solo singles including “Spot a Fake” and “My Oh My.” She also joined Kygo on Shakira-sampling “Whatever” and David Guetta on Alphaville-featuring “Forever Young.” Her second album, Diamonds and Dancefloors, came in 2023.
