R&B icon Ashanti is coming back to Australia and New Zealand this November, announcing a run of shows as part of her ‘Rock Wit U’ tour.
The Grammy winning singer-songwriter and actor will return to the region following a busy stretch of international dates, including a recent UK arena tour alongside Sean Paul. The Australian and New Zealand tour will kick off in Perth on November 9th, before making its way through Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, and Auckland – see full dates below.
Tickets will go on sale from 1pm on Thursday, June 4th, following a presale from 1pm on Wednesday, June 3rd. All times are local – sign up for presale here.
“Australia and New Zealand has always shown me so much love, and I’m so excited to be coming back this coming Fall for my ‘Rock Wit U’ tour!” Ashanti said in a statement. “The energy, the fans, the memories – it’s always so amazing. I can’t wait to rock with you all! Australia and New Zealand get ready… we’re going to have a blast together!”
More than two decades after exploding onto the charts with her self-titled 2002 debut, Ashanti remains one of R&B’s defining voices. The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, and became the fastest-selling debut album by a female artist at the time, according to SoundScan.
Since her breakout, Ashanti has released six studio albums and built a catalogue packed with early-2000s staples, from “Foolish” and “Rock Wit U (Awww Baby)” to “Only U”. Her influence has continued to ripple through modern pop and hip-hop, with “Rock Wit U” recently finding new life after being sampled by British rapper Aitch. She also became one of the era’s go-to collaborators, appearing on massive crossover hits alongside Ja Rule, Fat Joe, and Fabolous.
Outside music, Ashanti has expanded into film and television, working with names including Samuel L. Jackson, Sharon Stone, and Susan Sarandon. In 2022, she was honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
