Anitta will no longer perform at Coachella 2025. On Thursday, the Brazilian icon announced that she is stepping away from this year’s festival lineup over “unexpected personal reasons.”
“I was really looking forward to being at Coachella this year, but due to unexpected personal reasons, I won’t be able to perform,” Anitta wrote on X. “I’m truly grateful to the festival for the invitation, their understanding, and continued support.”
She continued: “I hope to have the opportunity to join you all in the future and share that special moment together.” (Coachella organizers have yet to address Anitta’s announcement.)
2025 would’ve marked Anitta’s third appearance at the festival: She joined Peso Pluma during his set for a sexy performance of “Bellakeo” at the 2024 edition, and she hosted a high-octane, sunset-backed performance during Coachella 2022. The singer brought out Saweetie and Snoop Dogg during her performance that year.
Anitta’s next scheduled performance is at Baja Beach Fest in Rosarito, Mexico in early August. The singer is set to release her Netflix documentary Larissa this month. This year’s Coachella lineup featured a long list of Latino acts, including Anitta’s Brazilian collaborator Alok, the Marias, Ca7riel & Maco Amoroso, Rawayana, Arca, and Mexican singers Ivan Cornejo and Junior H.
Anitta performed several times earlier this year at Brazil’s Carnaval and released single “Romeo” last month. Her Coachella performance would have celebrated last year’s Funk Generation, her excellent first album with Republic Records. “To be the pioneer is very hard because you’re doing something nobody has done, so you don’t have an example to follow,” Anitta told Rolling Stone last year. “You need to trust your gut, your feelings, and your intuition.”
