Amy Shark Wins Graham Kennedy Award for Most Popular New Talent at 2023 Logies

Amy Shark has another award under her belt, taking home the Graham Kennedy Award for Most Popular New Talent at the 2023 Logies.

The former Rolling Stone AU/NZ cover star was up against Ayesha Madon (Heartbreak High), Chloe Hayden (Heartbreak High), Flex Mami (Love Island Australia), Kween Kong, (RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under) and Lilliana Bowrey (Surviving Summer).

Shark joined the Australian Idol judging panel alongside radio veteran Kyle Sandilands, and international performers Harry Connick Jnr. and Meghan Trainor this year, and it has been confirmed she will be back for the 2024 season of the revived talent competition.

Just prior to her award win, Shark took to the stage to perform her new hit “Can I Shower at Yours?”

“I don’t have anything prepared because there were so many incredible actors [up for the award], and I am in utter disbelief right now,” Shark said upon winning her first Logie.

“Thank you Channel 7 and thank you Eureka, and Australian Idol for this insane opportunity and for believing in me, because I didn’t think I was ready for this opportunity and they really made me believe that I was, so thank you so much. To my amazing manager, Shane Billings, who really puts up with me a lot, and my incredible record label Sony Music. And just quickly, my nan is at home watching this and she is going to be just going wild right now, so hi, Nan.
