Air Supply are heading back to where it all began.
The legendary soft rock duo have announced a five-date Australian tour set for December, celebrating 50 years since Graham Russell and Russell Hitchcock first crossed paths during rehearsals for Jesus Christ Superstar in Sydney.
The anniversary run will take in the Gold Coast, Wollongong, Perth, Adelaide, and Newcastle (see full dates below). Tickets will go on sale at 12pm (local) on Thursday, June 11th here.
“We love coming back to Australia to where it all started,” Hitchcock said.
The tour follows a successful run of sold-out Australian shows last year and will see the pair revisit the songs that turned Air Supply into one of the country’s biggest musical exports. Fans can expect staples including “Lost in Love”, “All Out of Love”, “The One That You Love”, and “Love and Other Bruises”, alongside a catalogue of romantic classics that have defined the group’s career for five decades.
Since forming in the mid-1970s, Air Supply have built a remarkable global legacy. Their breakthrough hit “Lost in Love” became a major success in Australia before helping launch the duo internationally, while a string of chart-topping singles throughout the late ’70s and early ’80s cemented their place among pop music’s biggest acts.

The group’s commercial success remains staggering. Albums including Lost in Love, The One That You Love, Now & Forever, and The Greatest Hits have collectively sold more than 40 million copies worldwide. Their run of seven consecutive Top 5 singles matched a record previously held by The Beatles, while “All Out of Love” has become one of the most enduring songs in contemporary pop, earning Russell a BMI Million-Air Certificate recognising three million radio performances.
Even after half a century, Air Supply remain one of the hardest-working acts on the road. The duo regularly perform more than 100 shows annually and surpassed their 5,500th live performance in late 2024. Along the way, they have chalked up a series of milestones, including becoming the first Western group to tour China and performing to a crowd of 175,000 people in Cuba in 2005.
“It means the world to us to celebrate our 50th Anniversary by performing in our homeland of Australia,” Hitchcock said.
Russell added: “On our 50th year as Air Supply, nothing will make us prouder than coming back to the place where it all began!”
