Another special guest has been added to A Perfect Circle’s Australian and New Zealand tour bill.
Acclaimed comedian, musician, writer, and actor Dave Hill will join the rock heavyweights on their December run, alongside previously announced special guests Puscifer. Hill’s addition follows his stint supporting Puscifer across their 32-date ‘Normal Isn’t’ North American tour earlier this year, where he brought his mix of stand-up, storytelling, and live music to the stage.
Originally from Cleveland and now based in New York City, Hill has carved out a career spanning comedy, television, podcasts, and music. His screen credits include Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Girls5eva, Inside Amy Schumer, Joe Pera Talks With You and After Midnight, while he has also contributed to This American Life and Malcolm Gladwell’s Revisionist History podcast.
Hill is also the frontman of rock band Valley Lodge, whose track “Go” serves as the theme song for HBO’s Last Week Tonight with John Oliver. His live resume includes appearances alongside Tenacious D, Broken Social Scene, Snoop Dogg, Quicksand, and Bill Murray and His Blood Brothers.
The December tour will mark A Perfect Circle’s first Australian shows since 2013 and their first visit to New Zealand in 22 years.
Formed by guitarist Billy Howerdel and Tool’s Maynard James Keenan in 1999, the band released their debut album, Mer de Noms, the following year, featuring fan favourites including “Judith” and “3 Libras”. They have since released three further studio albums: Thirteenth Step, eMOTIVe and Eat the Elephant.
The upcoming run kicks off at Auckland’s Spark Arena on December 8th before heading to Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide, wrapping up at Perth’s RAC Arena on December 16th. See here for all details.
