The Terrys recently returned with new single “Ziggy’s Mine”, a feel-good anthem primed for summertime.

The breezy indie-pop song radiates positivity and perfectly captures the band’s laid-back spirit.

“We were chillen at the pub after a long day of recording music when we started watching the digital dogs on the screens, and one of those dogs was called ‘Ziggy’s Mine’, the band share of the song’s origins. “We all bet the house on Ziggy because that’s the name [lead singer Jacob] Finchy’s dog.

“Sure enough, Ziggy took the win which caused a strike of inspiration. So, we headed back to the studio and ‘Ziggy’s Mine’ was created. The vibes were at an all-time high, and in record time, the song was made in under two hours.”

The accompanying music video was shot and directed by Sam Brumby, which you can watch below.

Coinciding with the release of “Ziggy’s Mine”, The Terrys revealed that fans can get their hands on a collection of branded merchandise from Billabong Australia. Board shorts, tees, tote bags, shirts and caps are part of the offerings in a variety of designs, colours and sizes. Billabong has previously collaborated with other Australian artists such as Julia Jacklin, The Rubens, and King Stingray. Check out The Terrys’ collection here.

“Ziggy’s Mine” follows The Terrys’ 2024 album Skate Pop, which received a positive review from Rolling Stone AU/NZ.

“The breezy pop-rock of NSW South Coast five-piece The Terrys has won them a legion of fans since their 2020 formation, leading to a Number Three debut on the Aria Charts for first album True Colour,” we wrote.

Skate Pop doesn’t deviate much from The Terrys’ formula of drinking brews, hanging with buds and smoking bud, although dashes of Eighties synth and a harmonica solo on the folksy ‘Favourite Place’ show the band are still capable of adding new colours to a crowd pleasing, if limited, palette.”

The Terrys’ “Ziggy’s Mine” is out now.
