Adelaide’s Sunsick Daisy lean into guitar-driven dream pop on their second EP, Yonder.
Produced by Jarred Nettle (Teenage Joans, TOWNS), the band say the release explores “navigating change, grief, healing and nostalgia,” set against a backdrop of hazy textures and reverb-heavy melodies.
Led by the punchy single “Over & Over”, the five-track EP closes with the standout “Yonder, Young Wonder”, a swell of grinding guitars and airy vocals that capture the quiet relief of letting go and living in the now.
“‘Yonder, Young Wonder’ is about the dangers of nostalgia and how sad it can make you feel,” shares guitarist Kane Gabell, who also lends his lead vocals to the track.
“Learning to take in life as it happens has been difficult in the digital age and I’ve noticed we often get nostalgic and feel like life has already passed us by. Like we’re not ready to be adults. As much as we try to hold onto our youth, life only moves forward.”
“Yonder, Young Wonder” arrives with an accompanying video, directed by Conor Mercury. The moody black-and-white clip shows the band performing in a forest under the trees, with flashes of colour breaking through the shadows. You can check it out below.
