Naarm/Melbourne-based indie-folk artists Rowena Wise and Didirri have teamed up for their new release, “No Cure for Love”.

Blending serene vocals with heartfelt storytelling, the duo explore the vulnerabilities and doubts that come with enduring love. The song’s rich melodies and harmonies evoke a deep sense of nostalgia, reflecting on a relationship that has weathered many stages.

“This song captures those moments where we have crumbled, said hurtful things, and had to look at our options,” Rowena and Didirri said about the song.

A raw and relatable reflection on long-term relationships, “No Cure for Love acknowledges that love isn’t always smooth sailing – but it’s about choosing each other through the hardships.

The pair’s collaboration is extremely vulnerable and shares a sincere depiction of relationships. The parts of the song where both artists are singing together highlight the true intimacy of knowing someone and the deep bonds that can tie you together.

The accompanying music video for the duet is an important part of telling the song’s story. The 8mm black and white clip, produced by Road Noise Films and directed and edited by Didirri, encapsulates how long-term relationships can start to become a chore.

Rowena and Didirri both play a part in the video portraying domesticity, with Rowena shown doing laundry and cleaning up a house that is clearly lived in. In the last shot of the video, Rowena and Didirri are shown to be naked and tied up by a rope, reflecting that love is ultimately the bond that ties them together.

Rowena released a solo album in 2024, titled Senseless Acts of Beauty, while Didirri released their debut album, Caught in the Act, in 2023. The pair have announced an 11-date Australia tour that is set to begin on June 26th. More information can be found here.
