Just months on from the release of their last studio record, The Growlers have returned with a two-track release, including the masterful “Dream World”.

It feels as though it was only yesterday that Southern California’s The Growlers released 2019’s Natural Affair, but true to their prolific form, the surf-rock outfit have now returned once again with their latest track, “Dream World”.

Shared as a two-track affair alongside the inviting “Random Everyone”, “Dream World” was recorded following the sessions for their latest record, but hasn’t seen the light of day until recently. A fitting track for the current time, the tune imagines an alternate universe which is available to everyone if they want it.

A gorgeous composition complemented with the use of vibrant piano melodies, slick guitar lines, and the luscious vocals of Brooks Nielsen as he invites us to “Go make your own world/If there’s not enough to choose from”.

Something of a cathartic release that offers its listeners a form of escape, “Dream World” has managed to remain a surprise for fans of The Growlers as well, with it not yet seeing its live debut.

While the group are currently sidelined due to COVID-19, Australian fans most recently got the chance to catch the honorary Aussies performing back in January when they brought their Natural Affair tour to our shores.

There’s currently no word as to when Australian fans will get the chance to see The Growlers on local stages once again, but given their penchant for soaking up the Aussie sun, the wait won’t be too long at all.
